England beat Spain in extra time to reach semi-finals

England have reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024 after beating Spain 2-1 in extra time.

The match was a closely fought affair, with both teams having chances to win it in normal time.

However, it was England who eventually prevailed, with goals from Alessia Russo and Ella Toone.

Russo's goal came in the 96th minute, after she had been brought down in the penalty area. Toone then added a second in the 118th minute, to seal the victory.

The win is a major boost for England, who are now one step closer to winning their first major trophy since 2003.
